Tire makers Bridgestone, Continental, Goodyear, Hankook, Michelin, Pirelli and Vredestein have established the Hungarian Tire Association (HTA), the professional body’s head Peter Morenth said at a press conference on Thursday.

Tire makers in Hungary generated revenue of more than HUF 230bn in 2010. They employ more than 10,000 people directly and provide work indirectly for a further 15,000 Hungarians.

The HTA’s primary goal will be to represent the industry’s legal interests in Hungary.
