The Hungarian National Association of Drugmakers (Magyosz) elected István Hodász, the CEO of pharma company Egis, as its chairman at a general meeting on Friday, the association said, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.
Hodász replaces Erik Bogsch, the CEO of Gedeon Richter, who held the post for ten years.
Hungaryʼs pharmaceutical industry spends an annual HUF 68 billion on investments and HUF 76 bln on R&D, and also employs more than 15,000 people, Hodász noted in the statement.
