HIPA attracts record number of investments

The Hungarian Investment and Promotion Agency (HIPA) announced in a press release today that they brought in a total of 27 investments to Hungary, valued at €549 mln, between January and May.
HIPA said in a press announcement that they expect these investments to create roughly 5,597 new jobs, which is 40.2% more than the number of jobs created through HIPA’s work in the same period last year. The majority of the new jobs, some 34%, are being created by German firms.
Regarding industries, the most jobs were created in the automotive industry, followed by the shared services sector, food industry and medical equipment production, the release said.
“In our new foreign economy strategy, it is our aim to make HIPA become the best investment agency of the CEE region, and to raise the per capita foreign capital operation in the country the most,” said Róbert Ésik, President of HIPA (pictured).
