Hankook Tire Magyarország expansion at full capacity

Korean-owned Hankook Tire Magyarország’s €230m expansion has reached full capacity, communications manager Katalin Roy told MTI on Monday.

The expansion has doubled the plant's output to 34,000 tires a day, Roy said. Headcount has risen by 700 to over 2,000, she added.

Hankook Tire Magyarország’s plant in Rácalmás, south of Budapest, can now turn out an annual 12m tires. Output this year is expected to reach 9m, up from 6m in 2010. Next year, output is seen reaching 12m.

Hankook has so far invested €550m in Hungary. Production at its plant started in 2007.
