Hankook considering further expansion of tire plant in central Hungary

South Korean tire manufacturer Hankook is considering a further expansion of its tire plant in Racalmas (C Hungary), the daily newspaper reported, citing unnamed sources.
Hankook completed a EUR 230m expansion of the plant in August.
The newspaper added that it learned that Hankook exports 98% of the tires produced at the plant, 40% of which the company exports to Germany alone.
Napi Gazdasag said that Hankook currently employs 2,000 workers at the plant.
The newspaper noted that the Hankook’s plant in Racalmas occupies only half of the 56-hectare site on which it is located.
