GySEV to head for the Balkans

Following a development program worth several billion forints, western Hungary railway company Győr-Sopron-Ebenfurt Railway Rt (GySEV) is to enter the market with a new offer of logistics services in the financial year 2007, confirmed the company’s deputy CEO Sándor Ács. The recently completed Sopron-based (western Hungary) logistics center of more than 3,000 square meters is to be expanded by a cold-storage plant and other services such as packaging and wrapping. Apart from these, the company is planning to build further logistics centers and combi terminals both in Hungary and abroad. Although Ács refused to reveal details, he said that in line with the EU expansion GySEV intends to extend its field of operation mainly in Balkan states: in Romania, in Bulgaria and in Turkey.
