GVH fines Albacomp, Synergon for cartel activity

The Competition Office (GVH) announced on Wednesday it fined IT companies Albacomp Zrt and Synergon Nyrt Ft 10 million each for forming a cartel in a tender called by the Paks Nuclear Power Plant Zrt in April 2004.

The GVH said it had established based on e-mails that Synergon and Albacomp had collaborated in order to influence the outcome of the tender for an IT system for the plant's HR department. The office said it took into account when levying the fine that Albacomp's bid was declared invalid.
