ECE Projektmenedzsment Budapest on Tuesday laid the cornerstone of an expansion that will make the capital's Árkád shopping center the biggest in the country.

ECE is spending €80 million to build "Árkád 2", with 20,000sqm of retail space, as well as renovate "Árkád 1", which opened ten years ago. The shopping center will have combined retail space of 68,000sqm when completed.

ECE is paying for the investment with its own resources as well as loans from Unicredit Bank Austria and DG Hypo Bank.
