Denso to expand production of diesel engine parts in Hungary

Denso Corp., Japan's largest car parts maker, said it will spend €38.3 million (Ft 9.86 billion) to expand production of diesel engine parts in Hungary to meetgrowing demand.

Denso, which is 23% owned by Toyota Motor Corp., will create 200 new jobs at the factory by the end of 2007, the company said in a faxed statement. Denso Manufacturing Hungary Kft will expand production of diesel common rail systems to 1 million units in the year ending in March 2009 from 650,000 units planned for this fiscal year, the company said in the statement.
Denso shares fell 1.7% to ¥4,580 as of the 11 a.m. trading break in Tokyo. (Bloomberg)
