City of Mohács plans commercial port on Danube

The Hungarian city of Mohács is planning to build a commercial port on the Danube River with an investment of HUF 5 billion, city mayor József Szekó told Hungarian news agency MTI.

Construction of the port is expected to be completed by the end of 2017, the mayor reportedly told the news agency.
The mayor added that the city has been awarded a HUF 4.75 bln European Union and state grant for the investment. The general contractor responsible for the project is to be chosen through a tender by the end of this year, the mayor said.
