Bridgestone invests €190 mln in Tatabánya, Hungary

Bridgestone will manufacture 8,000 wide rim tires daily in its new production site in Tatabánya (about 50km from Budapest) from next year.
The factory was constructed on a 66 ha area in the industrial park of Tatabánya through a €190 million ($297.5 million) investment. Bridgestone’s 48th production site globally, it will create 200 new workplaces. Also used in Japan and Mexico, the technology to be used here is top secret, and provides better quality and efficiency as compared to traditional tire manufacture. The factory will deliver tires for passenger cars and light trucks. Demand for wide rim tires is on the increase. Communal tax paid by Bridgestone finances local infrastructural development and modernization of vocational training. (Napi Gazdaság)
