BorgWarner inaugurates HUF 8 bln expansion in Hungary

US automotive industry supplier BorgWarner on Wednesday inaugurated an HUF 8 billion expansion at its turbo charger plant in Oroszlány. BorgWarner Turbo Systems Kft won HUF 1.5 billion in grant money for the investment which created almost 100 jobs, said managing director Attila Bogár. The unit plans to increase capacity by another 50% in the coming three years, he added. The plant in Oroszlány employs 661 people at present, but headcount is expected to rise 20%-30% in the long term. BorgWarner has invested €27 million in Hungary so far. Annual revenue of the company's local business now exceeds €360 million. State secretary for foreign affairs and external economy Péter Szijjártó participated at the inauguration ceremony.
