Hot tub and spa products maker Wellis Magyarország Zrt.'s plant in Dabas (45 km southeast of Budapest) is shutting down part of its pool production, as a consequence of which the company will make 300 of its 950 employees redundant, writes business daily Világgazdaság.

As part of the reorganization, a new development and service center will be created in Dabas with the expansion of the development department, and the manufacture of the swim spa product line, which requires higher expertise, will continue in Dabas.

According to the company's information, it will do everything it can to help the affected workers and will launch a care program for them.

After the reorganization, the headquarter in Dabas will have around 650 employees, and the number of employees in Hungary will be more than 1,300.
