Sensirion Adds Back-end Semiconductor Manufacturing at Hungary Plant

Switzerland's Sensirion is adding back-end manufacturing, the last step in semiconductor production, at its plant in Debrecen, Sensirion Hungary managing director László Ábrahám said on Thursday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Sensirion started production at the sensor plant in Debrecen in 2021 and turnover there reached HUF 1.6 bln in 2022, Ábrahám said. This year, revenue could reach HUF 10 bln as automated production lines installed late last year allow the plant to turn out 20,000 sensors a day, he added.
Construction of another production hall will start this year, doubling the factory area and boosting headcount from close to 100 at present, Ábrahám said.
