Moldova industrial output quickens on year in January

Industrial production in Moldova advanced by 13.7% year-on-year in January, following an 11.4% increase in the previous month, economic portal Trading Economics reported citing data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Wednesday. I

t was the twelfth consecutive month of growth in industrial activity and the fastest since September.

Output surged for mining and quarrying by 64% and for manufacturing by 15.6%.

In addition, electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply added 6.7%.

On a monthly basis, industrial production fell by 29.5%, compared to the 5.7% increase in December.
