Latvia Industrial Production Down in February

Industrial production in Latvia decreased by 2.2% year-on-year in February, easing from a 9.8% drop in the previous month, data from the Riga-based Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) showed on Monday.

Output fell slower for manufacturing (-2.9% vs -6.1% in January) and rose sharply for electricity & gas supply (4.4% vs -20.8%).

At the same time, mining and quarrying tumbled further (-30.0% vs -20.8%).

On a monthly comparison basis, industrial production grew by 2.8% in February, after a 3.2% slump in the prior period.
