Latvia Industrial Production Declines in July

Latvia's industrial production decreased 2.9% year-on-year in July compared to the 0.7% advance in the previous month, data from the Riga-based Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show.

Output significantly fell for electricity and gas supply 24.4% (vs -15.8% in June) amid lower supplies of Russian energy throughout the Baltic states.

Production also fell for mining and quarrying by 3.1% (vs -7.8%), while growth eased for manufacturing (0.6% vs 3.1%).

On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 1.2%, easing from the 2.1% decline in the prior month.
