Latvia Industrial Output Falls Further in April

Industrial production in Latvia plunged 7% year-on-year in April, extending a 6.3% drop in March and logging the fifth consecutive period in contraction, data from the Riga-based Central Statistical Office (CSB) showed on Monday.

Output decreased more for manufacturing (-8.8% vs -6.2% in the previous month).

Additionally, production decreased for mining & quarrying (-16.3% vs -28.5%), while an upturn was seen in electricity & gas supply (3.8% vs -0.8%).

On a monthly basis, industrial output slid by 0.6% in April, slowing from a prior 1% decline.
