Industrial production up 7.1% y.o.y. in January

In January 2022, the volume of industrial production in Hungary grew by 7.1% year-on-year according to working-day adjusted data production data, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reports.
According to raw data, industrial production rose by 8.9% compared to January 2021.
The majority of the manufacturing subsections contributed to the growth.
After a six-month decline, the manufacture of transport equipment representing the largest weight increased again, the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products practically stagnated.
The manufacture of food products, beverages, and tobacco rose at a rate above the industrial average, KSH notes.
According to seasonally and working-day adjusted data industrial output was 1.9% higher than in December 2021.
