In April 2022, the volume of industrial production grew by 3.1% year-on-year in Hungary, according to a first reading of data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

Based on working-day adjusted data production rose by 4.7%.

The majority of the manufacturing subsections contributed to the production growth, the manufacture of transport equipment, however, representing the largest weight, declined.

The other two significant weight carrying subsections, the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products, as well as that of food products, beverages and tobacco products increased at a rate above the industrial average.

According to seasonally and working-day adjusted data industrial output was 1.6% lower than in March 2022.

In the first four months of the year, production was 4.9% higher than in the same period of 2021.
