Budapest Wholesale Market Zrt, the company which operates the capital's wholesale food market, plans to build a Ft 600 million, 4,000-square-meter warehouse that will include a unit for fish and perhaps other meat, CEO Zoltán Házi said in Monday's issue of business daily Világgazdaság.

If approved by the board of directors, construction could start in the first quarter of 2007, Házi said. Already, talks are underway with potential tenants.
The warehouse is necessary to meet an expected increase in demand among hotels, restaurants and catering companies, he said, adding that the company would pay for the project with its own funds. Budapest Wholesale Market completed another 4,000-square-meter warehouse for Ft 700 million in March.
