Stadler may build train factory in Székesfehérvár
Swiss train carriage factory Stadler is likely to build its new train factory in Székesfehérvár, managing director of Stadler Trains Hungary Kft Zoltán Dunai said.
Stadler Rail AG has also considered Szolnok as a potential venue, but the traffic infrastructure, good contact with the municipality, and the vicinity MÁV’s repairs garage at Pusztaszabolcs were serious arguments for Székesfehérvár, Dunai said. Stadler plans to produce 50-60 Flirt trains and will invest Ft 10-15 billion into the new plant. Stadler may start employing 350 people as soon as 2007.
The Stadler Rail Group, with its six sites in Bussnang, Altenrhein, Winterthur, Berlin, Weiden and Budapest, is focussing on the regional and suburban service market segments, the light regional express railway service, streetcars and intends to remain the global Number One in the rack railway vehicle market.
