OTP SZÉP card top-ups reach HUF 75 bln

Top-ups of Széchenyi Recreation Cards (SZÉP) issued by OTP Bank's voucher unit have reached HUF 75 billion, Lajos Róth, who heads OTP Pénztárszolgáltató, said at a press conference on Tuesday. Cardholders have spent more than HUF 45 billion on their balances, Róth said. The cards are accepted at more than 20,000 service providers. SZÉP cards, which are issued by several other banks, too, are part of a unified voucher system introduced under an initiative by the current government. OTP Bank controls about 75% of the market for the cards, Róth said.
