The National Development Ministry will publish the heritage of the socialist government in the beginning of August, then comes the new ICT strategy, following a professional and social discussion, in September.

Preparing the new ICT strategy of the government, it will review the heritage of the socialist lead with the help of the sector’s experts, to get to the necessary transparency, under-secretary of ICT at the ministry, Zsolt Nyitrai told MTI.

So far the reviewers found several cases in which the government bought technology at prices higher than it would have been necessary; chose solutions not compatible with the ones it already; and let go several favorable opportunities while conducting parallel developments, the under-secretary added.

Nyitrai said the new strategy would be flexible to react to ICT challenges, and it would also be practical, with the inclusion of a detailed action plan. The strategy will present the management of the frequencies by the government and also the steps to create a national digital network. (BBJ)
