György Major, who earlier served as leader of the sales department at MVM Partner Zrt., was appointed the companyʼs chief executive officer effective April 1, according to a report published by online daily index.hu today.

The new leader said his aim is to help the company preserve its leading role in the retail electricity-supply market in Hungary and to strengthen its role in natural gas trade as well, index.hu reported.

Major, who graduated as an electrical engineer and economist, has been with the company for seven years in many leading positions. Prior to that, he worked for state-owned postal service provider Magyar Posta as director of sales, and also worked as the CEO of ELMŰ-ÉMÁSZ Ügyfélszolgálati Kft.
