MNB official says Jarai has not resigned from Fiscal Council

National Bank of Hungary (MNB) supervisory board chairman Zsigmond Jarai has not resigned from his position as chairman of the Fiscal Council, the head of the supervisory board’s secretariat Gabor Missura told MTI on Thursday.

Mr Jarai continues to hold his position as chairman of the MNB supervisory board as well, Mr Missura said. Mr Jarai’s mandate is not affected by amendments to legislation on the Fiscal Council in force from January 1, he added.

The website of business daily Vilaggazdasag said on Thursday that Mr Jarai had tendered his resignation from the Fiscal Council.
