Magyar Posta could enter telecommunications market
State-owned Hungarian postal company Magyar Posta could enter the telecommunications sector to remain competitive after the European Union deregulates the postal market in a year and a half, daily Magyar Nemzet said on Friday, citing a possibility outlined in an action plan drawn up by the company's management.
In addition to improving its conventional services, Magyar Posta should concentrate on telecommunications, electronic services and cash services, according to the plan. The plan puts an HUF 80 billion price tag on investments required to meet these goals.
