Hungaryʼs general government balance, excluding local councils, had a cashflow-based surplus of HUF 92.2 billion in January, the National Economy Ministry said today, confirming a first reading released on February 8.

The government targets a full-year cashflow central government deficit of HUF 761.6 bln.

The January surplus compares to a HUF 53.8 bln deficit in the same month a year earlier, and mainly reflects higher tax revenue, the ministry said.
