Hungary leads clinical trials in Europe
The annual average of Hungarians participating as patients in clinical tests is somewhere between 15,000 and 20,000 the chairman of the Association of Innovative Pharmaceutical Companies told Hungarian economic daily Napi Gazdaság today.
The ratio puts Hungary in the leading position in Europe, while globally, the country ranks fifth in terms of the number of clinical trial participants, Zoltán Jakab said. He added that drug companies spend approximately HUF 80-90 bln annually on clinical trials in the country.
