Hungary: July fiscal surplus Ft 140.6 bln under forecast
Hungary’s fiscal surplus was Ft 140.6 billion in July, under the Finance Ministry’s latest Ft 153.2 billion forecast, the ministry said Thursday.
The January-July cash flow-based general government deficit was Ft 581.3 billion, compared to Ft 913.1 billion in the same period last year. Hungary had a fiscal deficit of Ft 297.1 billion in June and a Ft 97.5 billion surplus in May.
The central budget posted a surplus of Ft 105.6 billion in July, down from the Ft 125.9 billion ministry forecast. The budget ran a deficit of Ft 677.4 billion in January-July as compared to Ft 1,061.2 billion in the same period a year earlier.
Social insurance funds ran a Ft 13.7 billion surplus in July, well over the ministry’s Ft 7.2 billion forecast. The January-July social insurance funds surplus was Ft 20.4 billion, under the Ft 70.3 billion surplus in the same period a year earlier.
Separate state funds ran a Ft 21.3 billion surplus in July, slightly under the ministry’s Ft 20.2 billion projection. The funds ran a surplus of Ft 75.7 billion in January-July. The Finance Ministry will publish details of the general government’s January-June cash flow position on August 15. (MTI-Econews)
