Gov’t lays plans for future PPP projects

Public private partnership (PPP) projects are most likely to emerge in the traditional infrastructural projects, such as the construction of express ways and railways, and the establishment, development, and operation of public institutions. The Ministry of Economy and Transport (GKM), by commission of the PPP Inter-ministerial Committee (PPP TB), will develop by the beginning of 2007 guidelines about the scope of projects, sectors and services that will be recommended for PPP execution. Each project will be ranked by importance. The reason for the classification is the 2006 introduction of the new state participation limit, which restricts participation to PPP projects by no more than 2% of the state budget. The total YTD state participation was Ft 53.82 billion, which is 0.72% of the budget. (Napi Gazdaság)
