GE Healthcare will invest HUF 3.3 billion to expand its digital development centers in the capital and in Szeged (162 km southeast of Budapest), Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Páter Szijjártó said on Thursday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The government is supporting the investment, which will create 45 positions for engineers, with a HUF 675 million grant, Szijjártó said.

Endre Ascsillán, GE Global's CEE VP, said GE Healthcare would launch a new research project with the investment, focusing on artificial intelligence-based solutions for global markets.
