Equilor to enter Prague Stock Exchange

As a further step in its regional expansion policy, Hungary's Equilor has become the first remote member of the Prague Stock Exchange. The company is looking into possibilities to enter new markets of the region as well.
After becoming a member of the Warsaw Stock Exchange in the spring, Hungary’s Equilor Investment Kft is now extending its international activity further. With headquarters abroad, Equilor has become the first remote member of the Prague Stock Exchange. The company intends to bring new liquidity from its client base to the Czech capital market.
Equilor decided to extend its activities to the capital markets of the region after it had achieved a determinant position in the Budapest Stock Exchange, the company said in a press release today.
“In line with its strategy, Equilor has been searching for those international cash and capital markets in the recent months where its direct presence can further strengthen its position among independent investment service providers,” the press release reads. In the past few months, Equilor has been developing dynamically not only in the international markets but in the Hungarian capital market as well. Equilor is the member having the 6th largest cash equity turnover on the Budapest Stock Exchange, whereas the company is the 2nd largest among Hungarian service providers with an independent background.
Equilor chairman András Gereben thinks that the Prague Stock Exchange membership fits in perfectly with the moves the company made so far as the clients of the company have been showing increasing interest towards the Czech Stock Exchange.
“Our intention is to bring new liquidity to the Czech capital market by providing direct and flexible access to PSE for our clients,” Gereben said. “We are particularly proud that Equilor is the first remote member of Prague Stock Exchange. Our international expansion will not stop here; we are looking for possibilities to become present at other markets of the region as well.”
Equilor, established more than 20 years ago, started to operate simultaneously with the re-establishment of the Hungarian capital market and the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) with a difference of only a few days. Equilor has been at the service of its clients for two decades now with professional, client-oriented and individually tailored investment services. Equilor is a full-right member of the Budapest, Warsaw and now the Prague stock exchanges. The Budapest Stock Exchange gave the “Team of the Year” award to Equilor in 2010.
