Competition Office lenient in Bayer-Ferro case

Hungary's Competition Office (GVH) has exercised its leniency policy and exempted German drugmaker Bayer from a resolution in a case involving Belgium's Ferro, because it provided the office with information about the matter, the office announced. GVH cited unfair practise on Hungary's butylbenzylphthalate (BBP) market between August 2000 and July 2002 when levying a Ft 8 mln fine on Ferro. The office cited "insignificant" turnover on the market when explaining the relatively small size of the fine. GVH reduced the fine for Ferro 30% because the company cooperated with the office.
