Competition Office clears meat company acquisition

Hungary’s Competition Office (GVH) on Monday said it cleared meat company Remobo Holdings’ acquisition of a controlling stake in Schneider-Group.
Remobo Holdings is a member of the Penta group, which has just one revenue-generating unit - Slovakia-based Mecom Group - which is present on Hungary’s meat market through its subsidiary Debreceni Csoport.
Schneider Group processes meat imported to Hungary. Much of it is sold as house brands of discount chains Lidl and Penny Market.
