Cinema City strengthens presence in Hungary
Israel-based cinema company Cinema City International (CCI) will become a key player in the Hungarian cinema market and film and DVD distribution, according to business daily Világgazdaság.
CCI, which owns a multiplex cinema in Budapest and 11 similar cinemas and 86 screening rooms in other cities, has plans to add 50 screening rooms to its network by the end of 2007, the paper said.
The group also plans to strengthen its position on the Hungarian DVD distribution market. It's new branch, Forum Home Entertainment Hungary, will begin operations on September 1 by distributing DVDs, the royalties of which it has bought from the Warner Brothers, HBO, Sony and New Line film companies.
