Budapest Stock Exchange appoints Árpád Pál as chief executive

Pál will take over the post October 2, with interim CEO György Mohai returning to his previous role as deputy chief executive, the bourse said on its Web site. Former CEO Zsolt Horváth resigned August 2 to pursue an international career. Pál is a professor of corporate finance and analysis at Corvinus University in Budapest. He was previously an executive at the local unit of Erste Bank AG, following positions as partner at the central European equity fund Croesus and manager at a local bank owned by General Electric Capital Corp. From 1996 he held the position of the CEO at Budapest Bank, which was purchased by GE Capital, being responsible for crisis management and the sales of assets. (bet.hu, Bloomberg)
