BenQ starts selling handsets in Hungary
BenQ Mobile, which acquired the mobile phone unit of Germany's Siemens in 2005, has started selling three high-end 'BenQ-Siemens'-branded handsets in Hungary, the head of BenQ Mobile's Hungarian branch announced on Thursday.
BenQ aims to become profitable in Hungary by year-end, even if this requires sacrificing some of its market share, Tamás Tárkányi said, without offering further details. He added that low-end handsets would be sold under the Siemens brand.
BenQ Mobile's Hungarian branch belongs to the company's unit in Austria. The branch will deal only with retail sales and logistics.
