Vehicle fuel sales fall 2.7% in 2011

Vehicle fuel sales in Hungary fell 2.7% to 2.88bn litres in 2011, data from the Hungarian Petroleum Association (MASZ) show.

Sales volume of petrol fell 5.7%, but diesel sales volume edged down just 0.1%.

Sales volume of premium 98-octane petrol plunged 28.6% to just over 6m litres. Premium diesel sales were down 21.6% at 57m litres.

MASZ members account for about 85% of Hungary’s retail vehicle fuel market.
