Toyo Seat to put up 2nd plant in Hungary

Japanese car seat maker Toyo Seat Co. Ltd. has decided to set up its second European plant also in Hungary. The Nyergesújfalu factory (60 km northwest of Budapest) will start production a year from now. Toyo Seat has inaugurated its first Hungarian factory at Százhalombatta in September 2003. The company will also deliver seats to the Hungarian plant of Suzuki. Suzuki Motor Corp., will cover 15% of the Ft 2 billion investment, while Magyar Suzuki will contribute 20% of the construction budget. Toyo Seat plans to create 200 jobs at the plant and roll out 1.2 million seats in 2008, generating Ft 20 billion revenues. The 7,000-sqm plant will also make other car parts. Toyo Seat has already 5 operation bases across the world and has established a manufacturing system that quickly and accurately meets expectations of worldwide customers and changing needs in the market. The main products of Toyo are automobile seats, soft tops for convertibles, mechanical products, automotive exhaust pipes, door trims, train seats for the Japan Railways Group, steel office furniture, health equipment.
