Tata is a good fit for Jaguar, Land Rover

Tata Motors Ltd will pay Ford Motor Co quite a bit less for Jaguar and Land Rover, than a media report of $2.65 billon, a source close to the deal said on Tuesday.
“That figure of $2.65 billion is highly unlikely,” the source said. “You have to come south from that by quite a bit.” Earlier, media reports suggested, that Tata Motors had signed a deal to buy the Jaguar and Land Rover brands for $2.65 billion. For Ford, the cash can clearly help it pay for its ongoing turnaround efforts. It also never seemed to make sense, at least for its North American audience, to be pushing vehicles so strongly tied to a British heritage. Tata , on the other hand, is rooted in the largest member state of the British Commonwealth, where the brands perhaps carry greater resonance. (Economic Times, Marketwatch)
