Sanyo triples Hungarian solar-module capacity

Sanyo Hungary, the Hungarian unit of Japanese electronics giant Sanyo, has nearly tripled production-capacity at its solar-module plant in Dorog (N Hungary).

Sanyo spent several billion yen to build a state-of-the-art assembly line at its solar-module plant in Hungary, where the company manufactures finished modules for sale in Europe using components made in Japan, the Japanese business newspaper Nikkei recently reported.

Sanyo Hungary's new solar-module assembly-line began production this spring, raising the unit's annual output capacity from 55,000 kW to a maximum of 145,000 kW, the highest in the Sanyo group, the Nikkei reported. (MTI – Econews)
