New passenger car registrations drop in Hungary in November

New passenger car sales plunged in Hungary in November, while in most EU-15 states they grew, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) has reported on Friday.

Total new passenger car registrations in Europe (EU23 + EFTA) in November 2006 reached 1,221,393 units, 3.9% more than November last year, the ACEA said. In Hungary, new passenger car registrations dropped by 22.1% year-on-year in November. According to the latest report by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) today, the manufacture of transport equipment dropped 2.8% year-on-year in October and rose 9.2% year-on-year in the first ten months of 2006.
