New car registrations up 45% in August

New car registrations jumped 45% year-on-year to 12,931 in August, data compiled by carinfo.hu show. Total new car registrations were on the rise across the January-August period, climbing 31% year-on-year to 95,730.

Suzuki emerged as the market leader during the January-August period, selling 13,727 cars, according to state news wire MTI. Ford was the second most popular, selling 9,093 cars, with Å koda in third place with 8,340 sales.

New light commercial vehicle (LCV) registrations were up 21% year-on-year at 14,247 in January-August. During the same period, new heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) registrations increased 20% to 4,360.
