MOL restricts sales of AdBlue amid hoarding

Hungarian oil and gas company MOL on Wednesday said it is placing restrictions on sales of AdBlue, a diesel exhaust fluid used to reduce air pollution, because of hoarding, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

MOL is limiting sales of AdBlue to one canister per transaction or to at most 50 liters per transaction from the nozzle.

The company said demand for AdBlue has climbed by a factor of 10-20 in recent days. Higher gas prices have reduced supply of AdBlue across Europe, it noted.
