The average annual premium for mandatory vehicle insurance policies in Hungary was HUF 20,094 in Q1-Q3, practically level with a year earlier, but well under those in most other European Union member states, professional association MABISZ announced today.

MABISZ noted that the figure includes premiums paid on policies for almost 4.2 million vehicles, including commercial ones. Premiums on policies for passenger cars average HUF 13,000-14,000, the association said.

The average premium works out to about €66. In Germany, the average premium is €228. It is €267 in Greece, €115 in Romania and €171 in Cyprus.
