KSH: retail sales down 0.4% in June

The Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported that, after a second analysis of data, retail sales were down 0.4% year-on-year from June, after a 2.2% increase y.o.y. for May. 

Also noted were a 1.8% drop in food sales, non-grocery items were down 0.5%. Up y.o.y. were clothing at 1.9%, second-hand goods at 0.7%, vehicle fuel at 2.4%, and sales in the e-commerce/mail sub-sector increased a big 62.7%. Seeing decreases among the adjusted data were specialty shops (down 2.3%), home furnishings (3.1%), computer equipment and peripherals (4.9%) and books (4.9%).
