KSH: Hungary’s industrial output up 11% in June

Industrial output in Hungary saw a year-on-year growth of 11% in June, while the index adjusted for the number of workdays increased 6.0%, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said today in a first reading of data.
KSH said that output increased 7.3% in the first six months of this year in year-on-year terms, while the volume of industrial production in June – according to seasonally and working-day adjusted indices – was above the level of the previous month by 1.1%.
The unadjusted figure is the highest monthly increase since March this year and accelerated from 1.6% in the previous month.
According to Hungarian news agency MTI, KSH official Miklós Schindele said the trend of the previous months is continuing, with industrial output growth still driven by the automotive sector.
A second reading of data is scheduled to be published on August 12.
