Kirchhoff set to complete major expansion in Esztergom

German automotive industry supplier Kirchhoff is to complete a €12 million expansion at its plant in Esztergom (N Hungary), almost doubling the area of the plant and creating 60 new jobs primarily for engineers and technicians, business daily Világgazdaság said on Friday, quoting managing director Szabolcs Sólyom.
The plant, set up in 2004, makes pressed body components for the automotive industry.
Serial production could begin from mid-September, and the company will start supplying its products from next year to Peugeot Citroen, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Ford, General Motors and Skoda, the paper said.
Kirchhoff decided to expand its plant and its clientele after the output of Magyar Suzuki, formerly its sole customer, substantially declined due to the crisis.
