An August slump in new orders of Hungarian manufacturing companies proved temporary; they received 34.1% more new orders in volume terms in September 2005 than in the same month last year, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported yesterday. The rise reflected a sharp 40.4% year-on-year rise in new export orders, after a 1.4% year-on-year drop in August. New domestic order volume rose 9.4% year-on-year in September after practically leveling out in August. The total order stock of manufacturing companies at the end of September was 5.5% higher than a year earlier in volume terms, with domestic orders up 4.4%, and exports orders up 5.7%.
